Im home!

Beitrag von drewvictor » 22 Sep 2007 15:07

Hey all,

For those that care, and those that missed me dearly, just letting you know I touched down in Perth this afternoon, and tonight I shall be enjoying such comforts like a home cooked meal, Aussie beer, and a bed to sleep in that actually fits me. Ah, such luxury.

Trip was fantastic, road tripping is such an interesting way to travel, as you have so much freedom, and you decide where and when you want to go, and how long you want to stay there. Breaking down in the middle of the desert sucks, however.

To you new kids; travel a bit after camp if you can. Even if you just see a few cities. Its a big chance going from the green forests of Maine to the bustle of the city in NYC, to the farms in Virginia, to the red sandy desert in Arizona. Its a cultural eye opening experience, and I encourage everyone to try it some stage.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

Andrew

Pics? Well over the course of 3 months I only took 2500, plus maybe 50 videos, so I need a little time to sort through it all and chuck em on Facebook.

Search for Andrew Victor Smith on facebook if you wanna see them (in the near future)

And Anja? Travelling the states was fun, but now I prefer to be home, its good to have your feet grounded somewhere for a while.

Set yourself up with a photobucket account so you can just dump the vast majority of them up there with ease and link anyone to them, not just those with facebook :)

Hola,

Photobucket? What is this you speak of?

And Nicky? No, I dont miss it too much, I suppose mainly coz I was travelling with 3 camp boys afterwards for a month, and still caught up with camp people. Im talkin to a few of them, but since ive just gotten back, a ton of Perthians wanna catch up, so im finding it hard to find the time.

As for the interviewer thingo? I got offered as well, im thinking about it...

So you wanna be a interviewer too? I think it would be cool. a bit of extra cash and stuff working in our own time sounds great. And i love saying how fantastic camp america and camp is. I am annoyng my friends soo much with stories about camp!
So you had quite a few aussies at your camp i see? I had 3 Aussies only at my camp. 3! two were from Adelaide and me. I was the only girl. last time we had 7 aussies and apparantly last year there were no aussies. hopefully we have more next year.

Yeah im thinking about it, it sounds good. As you can tell from this forum im keen to stay involved, and if it meant earning cash on the side, then bonus..

We had a fair few Aussies, most were on the waterfront.

Originally hired as a general counsellor, got to camp and found out I was teaching Drums in the "New Music Studio!" which was just cabin with some "soundproof" rooms built into it. It was still good, hung out all summer with the guitarists and played music, was sweet.

Yeah, we had the iceberg. IT..WAS...AWESOME.. So much fun, an actual challenge getting to the top, and jumping and doing flips and such off it, good times.

I have a few fotos of the iceberg and such, I need to look into this photobucket thingo...

One day I got posted down to help supervise on the docks, as I didnt have any kids for Drums. For 3 hours I sat on top of the iceberg and hung out with the kids, it was awesome. The only guy I saw do a flip was one of the counsellors, it was sexy. Full Spiderman-off-the-side-of-a-building style.

Awesome, cheers for that Leon.

And Dan? Seems like you have been doing a fair bit of travelling yourself.

I added a map of my road trip on facebook. Check it out.
